Introduction

To support the design and licensing of the lead-bismuth eutectic (LBE) cooled MYRRHA reactor, experimental pressure loss measurements were recently performed on a full-scale fuel assembly (FA) prototype in the COMPLOT LBE facility at SCK•CEN.

Objective

The goal of the proposed study is to apply an existing validation procedure to existing FA pressure loss correlations, to establish a quantitative accuracy assessment based on the experimental and modeling uncertainties. Depending on the progress made, the study could be extended to more sophisticated validation and uncertainty analyses using sub-channel or CFD codes.
